ROTATOR CUFF MUSCLES AND SHOULDER PAIN - EXERCISES FOR JOINT INJURY TREATMENT ANATOMY
Posted by: strengthproject

Duration: 4:14
Number of views: 2,049

http://www.facebook.com/strengthproject Shoulder injury is no joke! The rotator cuff is a group of 4 muscles that stabilize the shoulder. The rotator cuff helps stabilize shoulder movements and maintain the glenohumeral joint (shoulder joint) stability The rotator cuff also helps hold the ball of your upper arm bone firmly in your shoulder socket The average person often neglects these muscles. Who's at risk for rotator cuff injuries? Just about anyone. You can get injured by falling, lifting, or arm activities such as throwing. If your older, you have to be more careful. Athletes, people who work construction, and people with weak shoulders should definitely incorporate rotator cuff exercise How is it injured? A rotator cuff injury is caused by any type of irritation or damage to your rotator cuff muscles or tendons. Some of the problems can be caused by tendinitis, bursitis, strain, or a wear and tear injury. Poor posture, lifting, pulling, falling and repetitive stress are some of the causes of rotator cuff problems. Shoulder pain, weakness and loss of range of motion are symptoms of rotator cuff injury If you have rotator cuff problems, rest and apply ice! See a doctor if its hurting and it doesn't get better. Avoid movements that cause pain. Strengthening ,prevention and recovery: We should aim to prevent from rotator cuff injuries even happening. The way we do that is by strengthening the rotator cuff. For those that have injured their rotator cuff, therapy will often resolve it. However, in the case of tears, sometimes it wont heal on its own and you might need surgery! :/ Thats why I strongly recommend, if its bad, see a doctor! When doing rotator cuff exercises, make sure the movements are slow and controlled and remember not to go to heavy. If you feel pain, go lighter, slower, or stop as you maybe need to recover. You want to make sure you can train in a pain-free range of motion. To strengthen them, you can use resistance bands, tubes and weights. We'll be going over various exercise specifically designed to target the rotator cuff Stay in tune in this series for the rotator cuff strengthening exercises

LEARN HOW TO DO A BACK LEVER ON THE RINGS- BACK LEVER TUTORIAL CALISTHENICS
Posted by: strengthproject

Duration: 3:03
Number of views: 3,091

http://www.facebook.com/strengthproject The back lever is a great prerequisite for many advanced upper body calisthenics movements. Last time we covered the front lever both on the rings and the bar. Start from an inverted hang. From the inverted hang, extend the hang by moving your toes straight behind you while your body is horizontal. Squeeze your arms against your body while in the back lever. Its important that you get the skin the cat pull out comfortably, and try to lead with the heels. This can be done with a spot. You can work back levers by slowly extending the legs. It might be a good idea to get someone to watch and ensure that your back is kept level. Do lever pulls with a spot. Go from front lever to back lever with a straight body. This helps develop both front levers and back levers. Any questions? please ask on facebook or comment below!

PLYOMETRICS WORKOUT EXERCISE: HOW TO DO A SQUAT JUMP
Posted by: strengthproject

Duration: 4:25
Number of views: 3,109

Squat jump is very similar to a vertical jump, except that now you are going to add a squat. Start with your feet shoulder width apart and hands to the side. Next you are going to squat down as if you were sitting in a chair. Bend your knees and reach back with your hips. Now there are many different beliefs on how low you should go. People argue all the time whether to go ass to ground or stick to 90 degrees. In this case we don't have weights on our shoulder, so risk of injury is reduced. I personally don't like going ass to ground with or without weight. Without weights I'll go deeper then if I were to use weights, but not too much lower then 90. It is ultimately depends on the athletes performance oriented goals on how low to go with the squats. The athlete and trainer or coach should look at these goals and pathological issues that maybe be present. Always seek professional advice if you have any knee problems. I'm not here to knock on who's right and who's wrong with what the right squat depth is. I'm here simply to show you an exercise. If you trying to build power and explosiveness, then you don't want to do too many of these back to back because they will drain you fast. We want to strive for technique and power out of each rep we do.

VERTICAL JUMP- INCREASING YOUR VERT LEAP WITH TRAINING AND EXERCISES
Posted by: strengthproject

Duration: 5:09

http://www.facebook.com/strengthproject http://www.strengthproject.com This is a simple video just explaining the vertical jump. I was a former high jumper, so for a while all I wanted to do was increase my vertical leap. I would spend hours researching. Dunking a basketball and jump high were my favorite hobbies. I avoided buying gimmick programs by utilizing what I had around me. I asked my track coaches and various other coaches what the best route to increasing your vertical was. Now after years of jumping, finding what works for who, and what worked for me, I will bringing jump training from the perspective of all the different coaches I've encountered through out the years.
