TRY THIS BEFORE YOU COMMENT! These guys seem to be having a race, they do what I have been told is called a Fran routine with both kiping pullups and squat thrusts w/ 135 pounds, but this is something you have to see to believe. The pullups are not cheating TRY IT they are really hard to do, but the squats are equally as difficult if not more so... plus no rest... this is truely amazing.. TRY IT BEFORE YOU COMMENT!

So you're now at the point where you can do a complete pull up. Now you can do sets of short reps. For example you can do 10 sets of 1 pull up. It might sound easy to many of you, but there ARE beginners out there. If 1 is the max you can do, I suggest you do as many sets as you can at 1, until you get to the point where you can do 2 comfortably. After that, you can do 10 sets of 2, or 8 sets of 3 etc... Try to determine what would work best for you. Dont rush it. Make sure you keep doing the basic exercises from week 1 and 2.

The L-pull up is a great exercise for developing pulling power and core stability. Because of the increased difficulty of maintaining the L position during the pull up, this pull up variation is a great exercise to add in your workouts.

Many practitioners eventually reach a point where pull up strength has been proficiently developed (15-20 dead hang pull ups and 30-40 kipping pull ups) and their improvements begin to plateau. When this happens, there are two options; weighted pull ups and one arm chin up progressions. If you do not have access to weights, your best option to keep getting stronger is to begin working on one arm chin negatives. By working an exercise in a negative, or reverse method, you are developing similar strength needed to do the regular version of the exercise.
